The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art, Art History, and Design is pleased to present its annual Tri-County High School Exhibition, January 19 through February 9, 2024.  The opening reception with an awards presentation will be held on Friday, January 19 from 5-8PM.  Faculty from the Art Department will be in attendance to meet with students and celebrate their creative achievements.

This exhibition features approximately 120 artworks created by high school students from Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties.  At the opening reception, seven awards will be given to students for their outstanding works in the exhibition.  The awards include First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and an Honorable Mention selected by this year’s guest juror Heather Mawson, Assistant Professor of Teaching, WSU. Additional awards include a Gallery Director Choice Award, Alumni Selection Award, and a Teacher Award. This year's guest juror for the Alumni Award is Kaleigh Blevins (BFA, 22).

Artworks by students from the following high schools are included in this year’s exhibition: Allen Park High School, Austin Catholic High School, Bloomfield Hills High School, Cass Tech High School, Dakota High School, Detroit Country Day High School, Edsel B. Ford High School, International Academy, International Academy East, International Academy of Macomb, John Glenn High School, Lake Shore High School, Mercy High School, Novi High School, Oakland Christian High School, Rochester High School, Southgate – Anderson High School, and Sterling Heights High School.
